Tucker is coming home!

Tucker Boston is over 5 pounds and headed home on Monday. And on Saturday, January 7th, he will be joined by his other siblings, Madyson, Hudson, and Hunter. All four are doing fantastic and progressing very well. They will, however, have to remain on a small amount of oxygen for several weeks once they come home. Madyson and Hunter's heart murmers are still quite loud. Although they are not showing any symptoms of this problem, it is likely that they will have to have heart surgery later on. Please keep praying for all four babies and the family as they travel and get settled in their new home!

Uncle Ryan got to see the babies for the first time last week. He even fed Madyson her bottle. Little Madyson is trying her hardest to keep up with big brother Tucker, she is almost 5 pounds now! Above she is showing us just how strong she is.

On top, Kelli holds Hudson, a little over 4 pounds, as she feeds him his bottle. Above is Hunter, less than an ounce lighter than his identical twin, Hudson.

3 Weeks Old
The Tiny Four are moving along quite well. Earlier this week, Hunter, Tucker, and Madyson received some medication to help with their heart murmurs (very common in preemies). Their pediatrician feels very positive about the results of recent tests that were done after the treatments. All four are in the Continuing Care Nursery at Antelope Valley Hospital. They continue to eat more and more, and keep growing and growing. Tucker Boston, almost 4 pounds, got to drink from a bottle for the first time yesterday. He did a great job for his first shot at it. They will continue to give him bottles every few feedings and increase the frequency as time goes on. The other three will start on bottles once they gain a little more weight.
All four are on oxygen through nasal canulas right now. Madyson doesn't like hers too much- she keeps pulling it out, and was even sucking on it yesterday. She is very persistant. The babies are allowed to be held as long as it is not right after they eat. They have to have time to digest their food. They love to be held and talked to. Yesterday, Hudson would open his eyes and smile whenever Auntie Cathy talked to him. But sometimes he gets so excited that he forgets to breathe, so the nurses have to keep a close eye on him.
We still don't know when the babies will be able to come home. The doctors would like them to be around 4 and 1/2 pounds. Tucker and Madyson are getting pretty close, but there is still no way to know a definate date.

12 Days Old
The Sarrett Quads are all doing fantastic and growing more and more each day. They are off the IVs and are no longer under the bili lights. All 4 have been moved to the continueing care nursery, with Hudson & Hunter and Tucker & Madyson sharing isolettes together. They are still fed breastmilk through a tube down their throats, but the tube is removed after each feeding. Kelli and Dennis are allowed to hold them now, but only for a short time. The doctors expect them to all be home around 4 weeks from now. Blake and Dylan are getting very anxious!

Hudson Wayne is almost back up to his birth weight at 2 pouds 5.7 ounces. He is eating 21cc of breastmilk every 3 hours and is so happy that he gets to be with his brother Hunter.

Hunter Blaine now weighs 2 pounds 9.3 ounces and is eating 22cc of breastmilk at each feeding. Dennis got to hold him for the first time last weekend. Below is a picture of Hunter's foot in Kelli's hand. So, so tiny!

Madyson Catherine-June, or CJ as her Daddy calls her, is back to her birth weight at 2 pounds 13 ounces. She is eating 26cc of breastmilk at each feeding. A couple of days ago, they moved her in with her big brother Tucker. Both of them are off of the ventilators, but are still breathing 21% oxygen through a nasal canula. Kelli was so excited to finally hold her precious little girl!

Tucker Boston now weighs in at 3 pounds 2.3 ounces. He is eating 32cc of breastmilk every 3 hours and is so excited to be sharing a bed with his little sister! Below you can see Mommy changing his diaper and Grandma holding him for the very first time.
